David Lubinsky, DO

Dr. David Lubinsky is an ABPD Board Certified Psychiatrist and Clinical Associate at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Psychiatry. He specializes in Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Psychopharmacology. In addition, he treats a variety of mood, anxiety, and trauma related disorders. Care is tailored to the individual and is based on evaluation and integration of biological, psychological, developmental and environmental factors that contribute to emotional suffering. Dr. Lubinsky believes in using intense psychotherapy to help his patients understand their inner emotional conflict and how their symptoms may be an adaptive response to life circumstances. He combines this with judicious use of medications to optimize therapeutic results.

Dr. Lubinsky completed his undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, majoring in neuroscience and psychology before receiving his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his residency training at Temple University Hospital where he was chief resident. He received a scholarship to train at the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Center, completing their course in psychodynamic psychotherapy. He also received the resident’s award for psychotherapy.

Dr. Lubinsky is licensed to practice medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is an active member of the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society, and the American Psychiatric Association.
